Friday was the official launch of Chalene Johnson’s newest program, Piyo. What is Piyo, you ask? Piyo is a mixture of Pilates and Yoga, but instead of holding long poses (which I seriously have no patience for) it is mixed with cardio. So you are doing quick moves and burning more calories, but with no jumps and no weights. It is for ALL ages and ALL fitness levels. You do not need any equipment…just some water and some will power!
Is it effective? You betcha! You will be building long, lean muscle while saving your joints. This program is really great for those that have had a previous injury and are looking to get back into a workout routine. (NOTE: I am not a physician. So please be sure to check with your doctor to see if this program is right for you. Especially if you have a previous injury!)
What does it include? You will get 8 workouts plus a bonus workout, the quick start guide, a workout calendar (my favorite!), Get Lean eating plan and a tape measure for the base kit. The Piyo Strength Package includes all of the above plus two additional accelerated workouts, a yoga mat, and Beachbody strength slides and booties. There is also Challenge Pack option for this program, which is fantastic. That way you get everything mentioned in the base kit, plus the addition of Shakeology, which is such an awesome meal replacement, high protein shake.
